What is the best "appeals to everyone" movie about the American Dream? I mean the single best one that virtually everyone can agree on?

@codinghorror "The Shawshank Redemption" gives me the feeling that if you are serious and dedicated, everything is possible. But, I concede that the context is unusual, and many cannot agree with me.
@mzan it's a very good answer and incredible movie, but I think it is a bit too grim (in an honest way) for some people's tastes
