Bloomberg has a ginormous article on computers and code for the layperson. It takes a long time to read, but it's full of different kinds of diagrams, illustrations, and even clicking things to produce different results. Highly recommended for those still in the dark about how things actually work these days:

When I see a link to substack, it's like the URL began with words like "freedom" and "truth" and ends with ".org" -- my eyes start rolling before I click the link. With a random blog you expect a baseline of kookery, but "substack" seems to signify, "I am straight-facedly cosplaying as A Serious Journalist but nobody will actually employ me as one".
