Can “social battery recharging” make its way into academic conference programmes already? Asking for a friend.

@neurofrontiers depending how the conference is structured. Wouldn't skipping talks suffice?

@barefootstache Fear of missing out and guilt for not being able to do what the others are doing would kick in strongly when skipping the talks.
I get that it would be quite wasteful to travel (usually) so far and not pack as much as possible into the schedule and that it’s wishful thinking, but in my mind the ideal conference would still have slightly more breaks where extroverts can be chatty and introverts can have some quiet 😅
