Barcelona has banned Airbnb.

"The decision is designed to solve what Collboni described as "Barcelona's biggest problem" – the housing crisis that has seen residents and workers priced out of the market – by returning the 10,000 apartments currently listed as short-term rentals on Airbnb and other platforms into the housing market. @natematias "What does a world without Airbnb look like?"

Just like 20 years ago, when Airbnb didn't exist. And noone will notice if it ceases to exist. It will still look the same. And maybe the housing problem will be solved then because all the flats will be again available for regular rent.

@Brokar @natematias I guess a lot of people would notice, given how much Airbnb is used... Not saying it's necessarily a bad idea, but I doubt it's the solution to the housing crisis

@nicolaromano @natematias
Oh dont get me wrong, i won't solve the crisis. But in my opinion it substantially added to it. That's why so many countries have laws now about Airbnb business. And we still have hotels and it worked before. So if Airbnb vanished it would still work.
