Baroness Sayeeda Warsi on #TheLastLeg on why she's a Tory: "We used to believe in the rule of law [...] think this country was a great place. We're not all toxic, mad fascists like a lot of my colleagues are now."

@neonbubble Weird. I always considered her part of the fascist lot. I guess the tories have fascist factions.

And writing that I have now earwormed myself with Jagger’s dulcet tones.

@nullifidian Warsi's one of only a few - maybe the only one of the - Tories to appear on The Last Leg. She comes across as reasonable and old school Tory - which is to say she has principles even if they're at odds with more humane people - but every now there's a slip of the mask that underlies she's still part of the club. It's excusable though. We're all tribal.

@neonbubble Sadly, when push comes to shove, she and those of that ilk will more than likely always side with the more extremist elements of their tribe in furthering the frothing agendas; complaining that such elements are different and mad comes to almost nothing.

Saying that, Warsi has her own theocratic agenda which colours her responses. Same mast, different flag.
