I wonder how much of that money is real though.

A lot of it is in the form of stock which has value because everyone agreed it has value, however, much of this stock is bought with other stock which has value because everyone agreed it has value.

If someone were to try to "cash out", the value of these stocks would crash, and they wouldn't get anywhere remotely near these big valuations.
