Looks like the bill which just passed in Uganda which has the possible use of the death penalty for homosexuality was instigated by some of the same religious groups in the U.S. trying to censor pornography.

They were there stirring the pot, demonizing gay people, and some of their members have been known to support fairly extreme bills.

Well, you could say they're all extreme by nature of bigotry, although this is still particularly shocking.
