@anicasts Hmmm. Serial Experiments Lain was one of the first anime I tried when I first knowingly waded into anime... and I didn't like it.
I kept waiting and waiting for it to click into a typical hero story. Like… The Matrix, or something. Lain would gain all the power and saves the day. Haha, nope... not exactly! It got close once or twice but it was very much not that kind of story. And that ending! I don't think I was ready for it.
Needless to say, I should probably give it a rewatch...

@olives @Ragashingo Mhm. It's been awhile since I've done a completely watch so this is a bit of a refresh to just how things unfold. I can't recall the ending, so I'll look forward to remembering how it unfolds once I get there.
I know plenty of thought provoking shows are out there, but I occasionally pine for new ones but don't have luck finding them.
