To be clear, it's okay to "do nothing", than to do something (this time against "sex dolls") which only has a possibility of creating problems.
Wow. It's been quite some time since I've had to comment on this one. The last time I did was in early 2023.
A few of the arguments against are very dry, speculative, and try to depict people as generally cartoon characters (as opposed to a fairly mundane person buying a toy). That's usually a red flag.
Also, bad people would still do bad things. It wouldn't really move the needle, but it would undermine due process, would set a dangerous precedent, and would pit some people.
Plus, there was a foundation which looked to set standards via collaborations with manufacturers, without the State getting involved.
