I don't think LLMs should replace search engines.
Search engines (should) help you find good authors and experts in a field. LLMs steal from such experts and don't give proper credit.
A website can point you to other websites or books for further reading. An LLM would pretend you can keep asking questions until its answers are no longer reliable.
People could say you can use an LLM as a search engine. What is the point of reinventing the wheel then?
