Finally going through the candidate statements in the upcoming #LosAngeles #Election and while I definitely need to delve in further on some candidates, some are anti bail reform, looking to use #AI to determine who needs help, using what sounds very much like pre-crime… Those are easy no’s

Utilizing opaque technology to determine communities that need help and ways to identify kids who are at risk… Look, I want to help prevent children from entering the criminal justice system but when a candidate says they will use technology to do so, it sounds like they might identity kids based on discriminatory criteria and might end up doing more harm than good.
