When it comes to things like crime, it might be worth thinking of how things like poverty, or things like a lack of mental health services (in general, not framed as a preventative service for criminals) might be associated with worse outcomes in society.

Bigotry (maybe, from parents who discriminate against their children) can also be harmful to someone's mental health (and make them more vulnerable to criminals).
