There is a downside to the new preamble... It's longer. However, the previous preamble (perhaps, the current preamble for you, as the new preamble has not been published yet) was already starting to feel out of place.
It's been bugging me for a while, so I decided I would finally get around to updating it.
It's not just part of the preamble now, there is a new preamble, although it is largely of the same form as the previous one.
