Should they watch porn? I can't really answer that question, although it's not a question of whether they should (even if it is framed like that).
It's whether these measures put in place to prevent them from doing so aren't causing harms of their own, and whether opportunistic extremists aren't exploiting this to try to undermine sexual expression.
Boosting a post on porn and adolescents, since the usual suspects are at it trying to muddle the waters again.

I get that it's kind of the penultimate Magical Girl But REAL anime, but it's bizarre that it's almost the only thing like that. You'd expect it to inspire an entire genre, like happened to isekai, but nothing?

@fediforum One particular one I've been looking into is the polarization of moderation policies.
For instance, someone might want an instance with free expression (particularly sexual expression), but without people being mean to one another
Another problem is the overuse of instance blocking (rather than simply as a response to extreme circumstances). It is very confusing for users from a usability standpoint, and it's a very blunt instrument.
This seems to stem a lot from the "my house my rules" type culture which permeates the fediverse.
Also, "No" has no real meaning (because even if someone isn't interested in it, this doesn't really matter, if there are people who are), I just threw it in as a curiosity to see what result it got. The real poll was the Yes vote.
Of course, if you have like a bajillion followers (or market it more aggressively), then the base number of responders might be a bit higher.
When looking at the poll about wanting to see an instance with free expression (but minus mean shitposters), keep in mind that the typical number of voters a poll gets is like ten.
So, it's a bit of support but it says a certain amount.

Well, even if not British, that one spends a lot of time in Cambridge lobbying the British Government.
I still remember a couple of the leaders (who are Mormons) of that extreme group (one I think British and one American) recounting what allegedly led to them wanting to ban porn.
They were abroad in some country in Europe, doing work for the Church, when they saw someone reading a magazine with someone being sexy on it.
They were outraged that such a magazine could be allowed to exist and they vowed from that day forth that they would rid the world of it.
It's all crazy.
@wststreet My stance there was actually probably harsh, because I wasn't in a particularly good mood, and I apologize for that.
I felt rather betrayed as they seemed nice enough, I much like the prospect of making friends, that is why I emphasized that part.
