Well, we tried Nebulous: Fleet Command and found it perhaps too realistic and not cinematic for our tastes. Too much watching readouts and icons and not enough seat-of-the-pants decision making. Is there deep strategy to be had? Maybe, but the UI simultaneously provides too much and not enough information; I found myself wondering, "Why is this system, which is listed on my ship, not in the menu of actions I can take?" I can't plan a soccer game if I can't figure out how to operate my legs.
Next time we'll try Homeworld multiplayer.
