Now we’re fully into the crawl space of the year (or “merrineum” as it was christened by Margaret Cabourn-Smith) I find myself wishing we could have a couple more periods like this per annum. Just a few days that don’t count so we can get our breath back.

@catmachine I've read several sci fi stories where the extra half hour in the Martian day is off-the-clock party time.

@peterdrake Yes that would work! Back on Earth how about each month in our calendar has 28 days and the remaining days are earmarked as time off? They wouldn't even have weekday names, which would mean every month could begin on a Monday and end on a Sunday.
