Occasionally someone sends me an enormous image in an email. Instead of scaling these to the width of the window, gmail displays them at full size with a horizontal scrollbar at the bottom. Does anybody know how to fix this?

(I could change the browser zoom level, but that makes the text tiny.)

@peterdrake Just click on the image. It will float the image over the email and scale it to fit the window.

The other fix is to have them send the inline image as "Best Fit", which I believe is the default. So they are choosing to send it that way.

@GreatBigTable Yeah, that first one is reasonable. There used to be a problem where such images would make the entire thread extra-wide, so I'd have to scroll to get to (e.g.) the reply button; this seems to have been fixed.

These images tend to come from various people that I don't interact with much, so convincing them to change their sending behavior isn't tenable.
