@r_mccormack take a trip to the "Wild Atlantic Way" (which you probably have with #cork) of the west of Ireland and almost every pub you come across will do #chowder at lunchtime with Irish wholemeal soda bread and butter and often with chunks of fish you nearly need a knife and fork for. Sublime.
@bagpie @r_mccormack wow! Ate a few like that in Donegal in September.
@peterwhisker @r_mccormack That was in Westport in August, town was heaving and it took about six attempts to find a place that had a seat. One of my favourites ever was in Falcarragh, Donegal, crammed with fish it was. Oh and Hargadon’s in Sligo, my old haunt. Returned this year, first time in 26 years, and was delighted the chowder and soda bread were still excellent.
@bagpie @r_mccormack Westport is one little town that I've always thought I'd like to live in but never quite managed it.
@bagpie @r_mccormack I think Dubliners have discovered they have a country nearby rather than just Marbella or Tenerife
@bagpie @r_mccormack I live in Surrey! We went to #Orkney in June and were a bit disappointed at the lack of any #folk music there. But it was a beautiful place to explore.
@peterwhisker @r_mccormack It’s been the same here and with the pound/dollar exchange rate as it is there’s been a huge increase in the number of Americans too. I don’t know if I can remember a busier season.
