Once again, I’m watching a discussion of ppl stipulating PyPA/Python core/Santa Claus to “just pick one packaging workflow tool and go with it” and once again I have to remind everyone that the main problem isn’t a grand conspiracy of someone not wanting to pick & make you suffer, but that due to Python complex history & broad audience, we’ve got many 90% solutions maintained by few people that solve the 90% important to them and that have no bandwidth/interest in fixing the last 10%. @hynek The thing is, in the ecosystems where there is “one blessed tool”, it’s still just some 90% solution, and if you aren’t in the 90% you are just SOL. Open source or not. Doesn’t just apply to packaging, either.
