Looks like I won’t be speaking at #pycon this year folks. That's 0/8 talks (accepted / submitted) over the years. You'd think just by the numbers one of them would have made it in. Oh well. Here are my 3 talks that were not accepted. #python

@mkennedy I love PyCon US, I do. But I get the feeling after this many rejections that I have a far better chance getting accepted at a smaller regional conference despite it having fewer tracks.

@kevin @mkennedy FWIW I have often found that my talks are more likely to get accepted to PyCon US after I’ve given them at a smaller regional conference. Seems likely that they get a boost for being “pre-vetted” in that way (plus presumably the organizers know that I’ve got some practice giving the talk already).

Of course that could be just down to the timing of things, where I have last year’s best talk at PyCon X, so I need a new talk for PyCon X, but that talk is still fresh for PyCon US. 🤷

@pganssle @kevin Hi Paul. Thanks for suggesting making the talks public. I published there here and if you have thoughts I’d certainly appreciate hearing them but don’t feel obligated to spend time on it.

FWIW, two of those three talks were given at conferences before (PyBay in SF).
