Yes, uv is great, but using pip shouldn't be a reason to "question your competency".

@nedbat Wow. Not the way you'd expect someone as prominent in the Python ecosystem as Samuel Colvin to behave.
For the record I also never found a reason to adopt uv so far, so I guess I'm also not serious enough about my work. Stay away from me, just in case.
@miguelgrinberg @nedbat Samuel's comment notwithstanding, you don't need uv but it's very good in many ways you don't realize you need until after you use it.
@miguelgrinberg @nedbat I'm not saying it solves a problem you have, I'm saying it has nice quality of life improvements. Like before I got a car with smart cruise control I would not say that it solves a problem that I had, but I sure do like it!
@pganssle @nedbat Yes, I understand. The first time I drove a rental with cruise control I said I wanted to have it in my own car. When I tested uv I did not get the same feeling, it was more like meh. I have been using my own tooling around pip and pip-tools for a long time, and I don't spend a lot of time installing stuff, so I'm not easily impressed I guess.
