@phlimy remember when you brought your #splitkeyboard when we met IRL?
That stuck in my head for quiet a while now and inspired me to also build one. Thanks for the inspiration and for introducing me to it! 😇
@_ Omggg that's awesome!! I'm happy to have planted that seed in your brain 😁
Looks really pretty! What's the layout?
@phlimy it's programmable. Currently I'm still trying to figure things out with the framework (zmk). There's also a e-paper display which additionally goes on top of the microcontroller. And there are still a few bugs.
But it's a great delight to tinker on a keybaord! Thanks again!
Btw which one do you own? If I'm not mistaken it was a ferris or something similar? :p
@_ Very cool! I'm also running zmk, it can be such a rabbit hole to mess around with layouts ^^
I was inspired by the ferris sweep but it was my own bulkier design. I was relatively happy with it but actually wish I added an extra key below the ring column. I like having extra room for modifiers/layers :p
@_ It's not currently my daily driver for a funny reason: I use my main keyboard (a 4x12 planck) as a hybrid musical instrument, and I'm too lazy to swap them out every time I want to play it heh
But I did use it a ton at school since it was so easy to carry around
