To everyone when they see horrible privacy news about Microsoft replying with:

"I don't care, I use Linux"

Sure, you do. But does your medical clinic do? Does your therapist do? Does your family member typing a personal email to you in Word before sending it do too?

This is a systemic problem.

You cannot protect your own data only by using Linux yourself. You must also demand stronger regulations and enforcement to obligate organizations around to protect your data as well.

#Privacy #Microsoft

No. I will not demand anyone to govern me harder than I already am. We can only get fucked over so much from over reaching regulations and unjust laws. My butt can only take so much fucking over by idiotic policies.

It is the responsibility of the user to properly ensure their own privacy and security. Just like the individual is ultimately responsible for their own personal safety. Not everyone agrees on how such things should be decided and properly implemented. I have met plenty of security experts propose wildly fucking stupid solutions I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole.

Often when you get into this arena you get big international companies lobbying governments and enterprise organizations. All so they can scam more money through vendor lock. Made possibly only by sweetheart backdoor deals that push through unnecessary security laws. Which unsurprisingly favor big businesses with more than enough money to afford adhearance to the new laws and regulations.

You can't get angry and force everyone to agree with you by compliance. Especially when it comes to IT security. That is how we ended up in this shitty situation in the first place.

The better alternative is for every user to grow the fuck up regardless of their intelligence. Implement the level of security best practices that makes the most sense for them. Not dumb everyhing down cookie cutter style, or force dystopian tech laws upon us. Just, because some people are deamed too stupid to be trusted with their own computers.

There are plenty of free trustworthy security and privacy best practices guides for IT security best practices. Made possible by independent collaboration. With input from many industry professionals. Who know their fucking shit. Who routinely backs up, updates, and patch their shit too.

Honestly, it sounds like you've got a head full of noise and can't quite make out what's said outside of it.
