Once the llama has locked on to you, this pattern is inevitable
Haha ok I'm getting lots of concerned comments: this llama is incredibly sweet and friendly, he's just... really weird. Like run-toward-you-and-stick-his-face-in-your-face-because-he-wants-a-treat-and-then-won't-let-you-pat-him weird.
He loves his goats and he loves new people. Super sweet but has incredibly weird ways of showing his affection.

Maybe the Incas bred them to be weird for some social reason which has since been lost to us?
