Wow. Has to be one of, if not the, best non-alcoholic beers I've ever tasted. I'd never have guessed it was alc-free.

It's a legal definition: no greater than 0.5% alcohol is "non-alcoholic" in law in Scotland (and many other countries).
Which of course does cause complications for those who for whatever reason want to avoid all alcohol entirely, compared to those who just want a drink which won't make them intoxicated.
