Bad news for the European branches of the decentralized web. Not only did #copyrightfilters and the #linktax pass EU Parliament, the Commission introduced new anti-terrorist proposals that would need you to be available 24/7 to police your network for "terrorist content".

It's time to make your voice heard in Brussels. Start with subscribing and following edri.org/ -- the reps for digital rights groups in the EU.

The future is here today : you can't play Bach on Facebook because Sony says they own his compositions

James Rhodes, a pianist, performed a Bach composition for his Facebook account, but it didn’t go up — Facebook’s copyright filtering system pulled it down and accused him of copyright infringement because Sony Music Global had claimed that they owned 47 seconds’ worth of his personal performance of a song whose composer has (...)

I have never met such an interesting, engaging, and inclusive crowd anywhere else on the Fediverse or internet. You give me hope that social media can be a wonderful and enjoyful place, hell even enriching at times.

I love you all keep it up!

@Surasanji I would wish to live in an optimal level of comfort for the remainder of my life, with everything that comes with it, without reducing the number of people and causes I care about.

In my selfishness, I would prevent any (mental) health issues, financial setbacks, deaths and impending doom scenarios for me or the people/causes I care about.

We might even never die unless I feel like it being the right time and be completely comfortable with that idea. And for me, that would be in that immutable, set-in-stone, one year. But I would be happy at least.

@Surasanji Oh man that sounds terrible! Any thoughts/acts helping you through the day today?

@Surasanji All the best for the coming time! Being without my specific med supplies is one of my biggest fears. Hope you can get the soon again!

How does it come though that of all languages, English is at 99.9% instead of at 100%?
