I just discovered that a large share of the American population is on psychiatric medications.
This appears to be widespread in Italy too, I read somewhere that 20% of the population used them.

This makes me curious, is there a lot of people here who take these medications?
I never did, but I do know some friends who do.

I created a survey just because, but it would be nice if you also write something about your experience and why you think that the use of these medicines is so widespread.

@rastinza
I did for a bit in law school. I started having panic attacks over a writing class.

The meds made me go from anxious to complete apathy. I was never warned about that possible side effect & later found out it was a rather dangerous one.

I'd been prescribed Vicodin for a long term injury prior. After the apathy incident, I learned to use the Vicodin to help control the anxiety when it was bad, but otherwise used diet, exercise, & meditation.

Thank you for your experience!
How did you get the medications? Did you go to a psychiatrist after the panic attack and then got it prescribed?
What was your opinion of these drugs prior to taking them? Were you scared when you got the prescription?

What about the apathy, how was one of your days in complete apathy?
