So many #Israeli's are now whinging that their contestant not winning #Eurovision is antisemitic and the loss purely is due to prejudice.
No. Don't go there. That's weak.
The world blames your govt for the genocide the IDF is committing. Not you.
Being pro-Palestinian or anti-war or even anti-genocide DOES NOT equate to being antisemitic.
We don't blame Israeli's personally. We know you are not doing it, unless you are IDF yourself.
We stand with you against your government. Vote them out.
@ami I don't like the complete separation of population and government which is often depicted.
It oversimplifies the relationship between government and population.
There is not many states in which government does something and everyone else hates on the government and is rebelling against it.
If that was the case the government would have fell already.
@ami I don't know about blaming, but I would consider an American citizen a bit more responsible for an action taken by the American government than an Argentinian citizen.
This does not mean that people are directly responsible for actions taken by the government, nor that they all support it.
@ami I agree: I do not believe you should consider a person a criminal because some crimes were done by their state.
@rastinza
I just can't justify abusing or vilifying people for the actions of their government.
That's why we took nazis to trial instead of Germany.
I'd rather err on the side of holding them to account for their own practices rather than their govt.
I am all for prosecuting the IDF and likud party for war crimes.
It's also non productive to blame the public and it plays into the victim complex their govt shoves down their throats.
They expect to be blamed and govt tells them they are.
