After 8 years in media production, I'm hoping to change careers. I'm 1.5 years away from earning my B.S. in Software Engineering. Looking ahead past the LLM AI nonsense, what are some #software needs or industries people think are strong potential frontiers for innovation and creativity? I'm particularly keen on considering software applications toward physical problems, such as embedded systems.

I don't know about embedded systems, but I can tell you there is dire need of professional software development in scientific software. Is there money to be made? Not easily, but if you're making money then you're making a lot of money.
@rastinza I had to check your profile because I would have been surprised if you were in America, as I unfortunately am! Science is certainly not a priority here right now due to our fascist regime treating it with outright contempt, but I'd love to help make programs that further scientific inquiry someday! Maybe a return to sanity will sync up with my graduation date. 😅
