@ravenclaw @Sphinx Two comments: 1) The fraud is a pitfall for students of the professor. Students were instructed to fake data and figures to earn a diploma. After that, students were forced to sign a letter of guaranty which states the response of the reliance of data were attributed to themselves; 2) The college was motivated to cover up the fact since Tianjin University's chemical engineering and technology ranks the top among Chinese universities. Ranking down brings negative outcomes, such as less national funds and less top students.
