This looks like a military mess facility. The guy might just be trying not to accidentally lose the weapon.

@Swede1952 @rdaily If it was a military facility, he'd hopefully be tossed out on the street about 5 minutes after someone saw this. Loaded, Unloaded, in pieces - it doesn't matter, you NEVER do this.

Guys in the military do things they shouldn’t do all the time. It looks well used, worn, so that also says military. Losing a weapon in the military is a very major event, not as big as an accidental discharge in the dining facility, but up there non-the-less. It looks like it’s kind of after normal hours and for some reason he couldn’t turn his weapon in to the arms room. It’s possible somebody eventually corrected him.

Of course, my musing could be completely wrong. 😅
