What the system * should * be doing is teaching skills like applying for jobs, budgeting and time management, which would show the student how to provide for a child.

I agree that parents are shit when it comes to this, and yeah sex ed is definitely needed. But from what I hear from US, they've ended up teaching kids about anal sex and weird fetishes. If even half of the things I've heard are true, I'm not surprised that some people vehemently disagree with sex ed. They don't seem to be teaching kids just how to be safe about sex.

If the school system was really about teaching people things they need to know, sex ed wouldn't be a part of High School. Between parents, WebMD, Teen Vogue and PornHub, kids are already gonna figure out how to have sex and probably are gonna be doing it. The only goal I see of sex ed is to make sure the kid knows how to kill a baby so they can stay in school.
