@farhan @pie Well @alex is doing some great work with his fork of #Gab's software called Soapbox, you might want to check that out, as it seems to be quicker a fix a lot of the issues I found with the Gab Social software.

@realcaseyrollins @pie @alex I heard! I'm not a Ruby guy, so I can't really comment on the underlying qualify of Gab, but overall it seems to have really lagged behind mainline Mastodon.

Perhaps a better idea would be a soft-fork of Mastodon that is rebased off head?

@farhan @pie @alex What issues do you find with the #Mastodon software, or why do you feel the need for it to be forked?

(There is the Mastodon #GlitchSoc fork btw)

@realcaseyrollins @pie @alex Conscious lack of features, instances burp up a lot of disk space quickly, requires a lot of CPU power, doesn't run on BSD.
