"Marxist ideas are attractive to compassionate intellectuals." -

@realcaseyrollins I appreciate that Peterson is fair to the other side. When people challenge him on stuff he respects the nuance and is able to meet people on their level.

@LennartMathiassen @alex Well, that's an intelligent, well-articulated point. 😂

@realcaseyrollins @alex
hey I just wanted to call the guy stupid :(
nah, he's just a lame guy trying to do good, and doing harm in the process 🤷‍♀️ Alex goes kinda hard with smooth-brained justifications for transphobia and he doesn't understand social dynamics lol (hey! that's kinda like Dr. Peterson 😝)

@LennartMathiassen Well, I haven't completely hashed out @alex's beliefs on LGBT issues, so I can't speak to that.

But if is your standard for "transphobia", then being transphobic isn't bad at all, but rather proof of sanity.

@realcaseyrollins @alex
we're all different and entitled to our own beliefs, and I'm sure you and I disagree on lots of different things^^
I'm not a fan of JP, but he's an interesting phenomenon and it's outright hilarious that he got fucked up on pills and ended up in Russia lol :P

@LennartMathiassen @alex I don't think that's funny at all. Why is it funny? It's tragic, more than anything.

@realcaseyrollins @alex
If they've done a lot of harm to the world? yeah why not
It's not really a new concept, lots of people celebrated when folx like Thatcher, bin Laden and David Koch died^^ joy is a very human and wondrous thing ❤️

@popko @LennartMathiassen @alex He doesn't hate me (I don't think). Disagreement is not the same as hate.

@popko @LennartMathiassen @alex Because he has not insulted me or called me names yet, although I assume the latter is inevitable.

@LennartMathiassen @alex Could you define "harm to the world"? I am not quite sure what these three have in common.

In my view, one must:

1. Intentionally cause more people to die than would have died without their intervention

2. Destroy or destabilize a society

3. Gratuitously steal from a large amount of people

4. Severely mentally assault a group because of heritage and social status

4. Deceive a large amount of people into propelling movements that would propagate the aforementioned issues.

@realcaseyrollins @alex
you seem like a nice guy, but for simplicity's sake I'll just say that everyone to the right of Stalin in any influential position should be shunned! :anarchy: Just kidding, but I'm not on the same wavelength as those guys :)

@LennartMathiassen @alex Which is my qualms with your argument, and indicative of what I see as something pervasive in our society; villification of people we disagree with.

You don't agree with the ideology of Koch, Bin Lade, or Thatcher. Fair enough. But that should not be your standard as far as whether you rejoice when somebody dies.

I didn't rejoice when Elijah Cummings died. I won't rejoice when RBG dies, although that might be tempting for someone of my ilk.

That sort of grave-dancing is only to be reserved for the worst of the worst, IMHO, which holds zero resemblance with.

@realcaseyrollins @alex
I think that's an intellectually and emotionally empty way of understanding politics and human relations, but we're all different :P
Have a good one, bud!

@popko @LennartMathiassen @alex I don't think it's important to up and leave an instance you have a reasonable presence on, even if it's better, unless you either cannot use it in good conscience, or are banned from another instance.

I might join Game Liberty Club if I ever leave . But there's no reason for me to do that now.

@realcaseyrollins I've got this guy blocked. At one point we were having reasonable conversations and now he just comes on to antagonize me lol. I think he's obsessed with me.
