I was reading some papers by archeologists at the 1770’s site where the HMS Endeavour ran aground upon the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. Marine biologists helping with this 1970’s archaeological study mentioned visiting sharks and admitted a fascination with ichthyosaurs, a super-predictor worthy of further investigation. @newscientist

This 2020 video by Tom Scott is a great example of for my senior students. I am loving the discussion of the survey design, hypothesis and limitations. Good visualisations and laughs too youtu.be/V5u9JSnAAU4

Every year at Christmas now I think about Christmas 8 years ago when I nearly died with my wife, child and in-laws.

I share this every year over on the Bird Site and will share it here now.

It was Christmas Eve. 9 year old was just 1. We were staying at my in-laws who had an acreage just outside Red Deer at the time. We went to bed a bit late but the night was good. 1 year old wasn’t up too much.

I enjoy volunteering as community relationships matter. This week I shared a lovely pizza, cooked up with some fellow scout leaders in a backyard.

@JennaPrice thank you for the wonderful post, I gave me time to think this morning about how our relationships with other local people matters. I enjoy volunteering and this week had a lovely breakup with fellow Scout Leaders, cooking pizza in a backyard.

@revdancatt these pics are breathtaking, thankyou for the share

‘Busloads of people arrived.
I asked 1 of my fellow moderate colleagues who they were.
“The Mormons, Pentecostalists – the religious right. You know – the stacks (aka branch-stacked members)”’

@tiffanycli It is certainly impressive. Akin to the revelation that we don't need to all use and share the one email provider, everybody can have a stake in this ecosystem :-)

I am exploring some options for extra solar, battery, heat-pump heating and cooling for our home in Melbourne Australia.
