I do live an ocean away and so my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt, but I strongly disagree with Daniel Miessler’s recent take on the meaning of “mass shooting”. Sure, there’s a certain level of horror when it comes to shooting in schools and supermarkets, but why should attending a “truck show or … nightclub” come with an accepted risk of serious injury and death. Shooting have become so normalised in the US that what would be considered a shocking incident here in Europe is just swept under the rug and considered unimportant to statistical reporting by some.
