I'm writing a new talk about technology and typography - everything from clay tablets and Linotype to golfball typewriters to how TrueType fonts actually work.

I have plenty of ideas, a stack of interesting books and sources to review, and the usual sprinkling of anecdotes from my own career... but do you know any really cool stories or hacks about fonts or typography, that you think I ought to look up?

@dylanbeattie If you're covering goofball typewriters, it might be worth mentioning that the typewriter design we're all familiar with wasn't universal from their first invention e.g. youtu.be/kbJha9GhBoQ Also, CJK typewriters were a whole different thing youtu.be/JZcui85b4EE
