Do you have a favourite exoplanet? I do: TRAPPIST-1e.

It's an eyeball planet: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eyeball_

It doesn't have a day/night cycle nor seasons. Only permanently-hot and permanently-cold-and-dark sides, with a never ending sunset and extreme winds in between.

@kornel

With the winds going in both directions (unless there's an ocean there, in which case it might be the current that's going in the opposite direction).

@robryk I'm curious to know whether mountain ranges or some other features could make it have both scorching deserts and ice caps, or is heat exchange dooming it to be ocean + ice or desert + ocean only.

@kornel You mean TRAPPIST-1e in particular or eyeball planets in general?

How sure are we that TRAPPIST-1e's predominant liquid (do we know there's one?) is water?
