I honestly think it's inevitable that I'm just going to have to permanently Limit mastodon.social. I'm not judging their decision to have open sign-ups, and I think it's ultimately to the benefit of the whole Fediverse to have a "main" server with easy onboarding for new folks (who may migrate elsewhere once they get the hang of things). But a Limit will stop new accounts there from DMing people here. #RPAdmin
@trixter Wouldn't it also stop new accounts there from following people here? (My naive read of documentation was that `limit` causes any messages from the limited source to users who don't follow the author to be ~dropped, which technically would include the follow request, even if it's normally responded to automatically.)
