so uh i was thonking, why doesn’t fedi have a protocol scheme, such that a web client or native app could register a protocol handler for it, for interacting with posts from other instances on your home instance?

it just seems like such better UX than ‘navigate to your home instance and paste this URL into its search box’

and this is something that (aiui) chrome and firefox at least both support and have done for a decade
