installing a 40 year old program:
on macos: no, the newest version only supports software made in the last 3 minutes
on windows: of course it works, the entire operating system is built around backwards compatibility
on unix: it’s already installed
@starshine@woem.space I appreciate that you said UNIX because you won't get ed(1) by default on modern Linux distributions anymore. God forbid anybody need to edit a file over a serial connection.

@rq @starshine unless your serial connection is fast enough to support e.g. vi and everything knows which escape sequences to use.
