@ancientjames "Device will cease to function" - I always love it when people brick hardware through a lack of remote services. If anyone other than the manufacturer destroyed something that I've bought, there'd be lawsuits, yet this is deemed normal?

Were there lawsuits when last provider of 2G stopped being one?

@robryk @ancientjames You can still play Snake on your 2G phone. :D

When the main point of a device is communication, having old protocols disappear after a window longer than the expected lifetime of the product seems ok to me.

When you brick a product that just doesn't need to be tied to networked services, that seems wrong to me, unless I've misunderstood the nature of Magic Leap.
