Re: ecobee hold nonsense.

It's possible that this has been updated from when I last encountered their thermostat. I do not recall seeing the "Decide at the time of change" option.

But I dare you to tell me that is not ridiculously over complicated and asinine to my face.

And if you want to lose your mind even more, click the link and realize how specific these instructions have to be for all the different models they've sold over the years.

For context, the way Nest as well as every programmable-but-not-smart thermostat I have ever used manages things, when you adjust the temperature manually, that is *a temporary override* that will stay active until the next program set point.

On Nest, hold isn't even a thing (!).

But on other thermostats, HOLD means you are telling it to ignore the program **entirely** and become a dumb thermostat **until you turn HOLD off.**

Ecobee's paradigm here is bonkers.
