@Lana to be fair stuff like that happened with spacecrafts built with taxpayers money too

@rail_ NASA never deliberately skipped a costly pre-flight check which resulted in a crash.

@Lana @rail_ they did skip resonance testing of Saturn v in vacuum, which resulted in pogo oscillations on iirc Apollo 8, which caused the engine to be switched off due to oscillations becoming large enough to trip chamber pressure or some such limits. Had they not tripped them, a breakup of the launch vehicle would have likely followed. (Which the crew would have a good chance of surviving.)
