I was wondering what the status of Google's switchto/futex_swap upstreaming (a small kernel improvement allowing userspace threading implems to be 5-10x faster).
Found the upstreaming thread from 2020, and this is the literal first sentence of the first reply to the patchset from a prominent maintainer:

(In reference to the patch submitter mentioning a LPC talk from 2013 about the proposal.)
@delroth I cannot claim to know the authors intent regarding that remark, so I don't want to defend it.
I do however see the benefit of maintainers requiring that relevant information be presented "on the list". The PDF link is now defunct while the list is distributed public information.
I wish more projects would take a more active approach to ensure that all relevant information and discussion happens in open spaces.
