Love it when students have clearly done a deep dive into something (literally, in this case): Working with S2, around 13 years old. We're doing sound transmission, and I'm firing up the vacuum chamber with a buzzer inside it. As the pressure drops they're asking about implosions and deep sea vessels, and one knew all about carbon fibre being a bad choice for OceanGate's Titan.

It might be interesting to show them that sound bends when speed of sound changes in space, and tell them about the rescue bombs that were once placed on aircraft (they'd explode at some depth if the aircraft sunk, and listening stations around the ocean would triangulate the location of the accident).
