Watched the three bottles we made (now filled with whisky older than me) get auctioned for charity this afternoon. Total for the three was £890k. Very chuffed
But no, we don't get a percentage. Nice way to spend an afternoon with the team of 15 or so that did it though.

If you're curious, our lots were:

8 (Old Pulteney Polaris, 47yr old, entirely done in-house)

24 (Glen Grant Eternal, 77yo, external designer)

31 (The Glenlivet SPIRA 60yo, external designer)

Outside of our own stuff, I (and several colleagues) think that the lot 16, the Port Ellen Prism 46yo, was easily the most stunning design.

How do you get the liquid in and out of #31?

@robryk The green cap removes to reveal a relatively standard bottle cap.
But here's the frustrating thing from my point of view: these whiskies may never be drunk. I designed a tamper-proof seal for one of them. But me, if I buy a posh whisky it's to be drunk with friends. I do acknowledge that others, who spend a hundred thousand pounds or five, take a different view and might want to re-sell it. But they also pay for me to get involved in the glass industry out of curiosity.
