Sure gushing over some bus, trains, or other public transport systems technical details can be fun but

God I wish more people would do analyses of systems from a project management/execution dynamics angle :haha:

Stuff like:
- How do you plan it (be it a new or expansion project)
- How do you convince whoever is in power to build it (and what compromises have to be made, is any)
- How do you convince people to give up their [money, land, whatevers] so you have the funds and space to build it
- How do you manage it in day-to-day operation and keep service levels high
- And, just as important, how do you keep it resilient against crap like governmental turnover

I have a couple local books that talks about adjacent topics but I'd love to see those from foreign systems too :blobcatpeekaboo:

I mean yes I know these are like "boring" "soft" "managerial" topics but those great trains buses and whatnot doesn't come out of thin air so I want to learn about the behind the scenes stuffs

From conception to building to operation to maintenance, and what kinda crap they have to deal along the way of it

@koakuma

IMO they aren't boring, but they're unpleasant, insofar they ~require one to consider how to ~manipulate people (c.f. Granny Weatherwax's description of sin).
