Not sure about how other research groups would look like when they discuss about scientific questions, but in our lab very often it’s like “if this works, it definitely can go to C/N/S (or some other decent journals).”
I totally understand this can serve as a great motivation, but I just genuinely hope this could be less emphasized until manuscript writing, as we have to follow the particular formats, and only until then can we exactly know where we can go…
