How close is this to being criminal activity? (Opinions welcome.)
I am confused about this. If twitters cost saving measures increased CSAM, isn't that the same (basically) as increasing revenue by distributing CSAM?
I would say very close. he has removed moderators, those moderators have or had experience with the platform, users, behaviour so could spot the signs and act early on posting of illegal images.
Other countries have beaten the UK to it in terms of an online harms bill Germany has sued Twitter over holocaust denial and anti Semitism.
I would however guess it is rather difficult to 'collate' evidence, if anything concerns NEED to be passed to the authorities so they can take action and gather evidence without falling foul of the laws on possession and distribution of this material.
@rrb I think removing child porn costs another buck or two.
